07.11.08 LANDER – Game and Fish officers are seeking any information anyone may have regarding two mule deer that were illegally shot and left to waste near Worthen Meadows Reservoir southwest of Lander recently. Both a lactating doe and a velvet-antlered trophy buck were shot and left at the same forested location a short distance from the Worthen Meadows Reservoir dam.
Officials believe both deer were killed in the afternoon on Saturday, June 28. Officers ask that anyone that may have camped or recreated in the Worthen Meadows Reservoir vicinity during the weekend of June 27-30 contact Game and Fish with any information they have including people and vehicles that were in the vicinity and anything they may have seen or heard that seemed unusual or of interest.
